The 23 ft boat at the Worcester Sportsman Show was impressive. I plan to test ride the Blacklab this Spring out of your place in Yarmouth. As I indicated, I troll in rip waters for Stripers, I would much rather have a set of captains seats in place of the leaning post. In addition, I would like to see deck adapters for 2 more captains seats facing aft so sports can sit while trolling in rough water (i.e., classical rip fishing" in NE shoal water). Also, when underway on a long run in rough water, standing is no longer my cup of tea as well as those I take out. I'm not sure there is enough aft deck space to comfortably fit 2 trolling chairs because of the location of the T-top enclosure. At my age, I can no longer take the pounding while standing up and heading out through rough water. I am looking forward to see how she handles in a rough steep chop and how she manages in a following sea. All in all I find the boat impressive - a rig that I can throw fish on the deck without worrying about "dirtying the deck", self bailing, rugged and arranged for fishing offshore. Can't believe the wall to wall carpeting placed in the 20 ft alum expensive fishing boats on the market today. That stuff is OK in my den - not out in the water. with regards, Peter D

Peter - Thank you for your question - appreciated.

The answer is that we cannot realistically do the 4 captains seat (helm seat) set-up you asked about in a 20' boat with a top. The seats are just too bulky (each takes up about 2' square).

Even in a 23' boat the console is only 36" wide so the seats would be wider than the console which never really works.

What might work would be behind what will be our new 52" wide hardtop. This is coming soon and would fit your set-up very well. The only thing is that it will only fit on our 23' and 26' models and not the 20' you asked about.

If interested please stay tuned for more information on the new walkaround canin and new hardtop!
