Hi Jay. I rec'd the requested info package with the nice list of options and have a question about trim tabs. Is the basic trim of the boat done with the engine? Is the trim tab option appropriate when the load in the boat will vary significantly? Perhaps you could explain the advantages. Thanks.

Doug

Thank you for the question, Doug.

I've always said that trim tabs make any planing boat a better boat regardless of design. From baby fixed trim tabs on an 8' infalatble to massive ones on a Post 50'. These boats are better with than without trim tabs.

Our boats are the same. You can trim with the engine but it always feels to me as if you are lugging the engine in doing so - I much prefer a set of tabs. Our offshore customers insist that they are a "must". For inshore and nearshore guys like myself I think that the cost (along with the fact that it is another system in a saltwater environment and will eventually fail) makes them unattractive.

For offshore guys with possibly a 700lb tuna on one side or running through 4'-5' seas they are a necessity.

I Hope that this answers your question!

Jay
