Had a call from a recent customer this morning who relayed a story that I kind of liked.
He said that when he brought his new V20 in for local electronics installation one of the workers said...
"That's no fur boat"
The customer asked what he meant by "fur boat". He said that it wasn't one of those fiberglass thingies with all of the useless stuff that will break and get in the way of fishing...I like that...no fur!
Another item - while out on the water last week (desperately looking for the first striper of the season)I came across the yacht "Turmoil" anchored here in Casco Bay. For those of you not familiar with this boat it is a 151' all-welded aluminum alloy "Expedition Yacht" (see picture above). This small ship is owned by the founder of Land's End and travels 25,000 miles a year to such places as the Amazon, Arctic and Antarctic. Unlike most yachts which serve as floating condos this vessel works.
I was dying to go up and ask them whether or not they were worried that the aluminum would get eaten away in saltwater or if they were afraid of that "Electrolysis Stuff"...he, he, he....
George L's boat is almost ready - the cod and haddock stocks are now in further danger. Rippleffect's 2nd boat is here - a V26WAx - should prove to be a good sistership to their V23.
All for now....where are those stripers anyway...Jay
