I'll be heading off this afternoon to do a delivery to the South Bay Fire Department on Lake Oneida, NY - pretty long haul. People are always so surprised that the company president is delivering their boat. Of all of the functions here it is the one thing I most enjoy. Demo rides are fun, boat design is interesting, making sales keeps the doors open - but the biggest joy I get is when someone gets handed the keys to what is for many a lifelong dream. Oftentimes a group of neighbors or friends are present. The young kids are sitting in the driver seat going "Vroom, Vroom", the teenage son is eyeing the boat with visions of large stripers while the wife has that same look which always says to me "Boys!". The boat I'm delivering tomorrow although not a fishing boat will be delivered to a group of firefighters we took on a demo ride this past December - great guys - they are all excited to finally have a top-notch boat for what can be a very nasty and dangerous lake...
