From one of our nicest customers:
Hi Jay,
Here are some pics of the boat taken last June, better late than never. We
have some pics of fish caught but all taken by disposable cams, none I can
email. All the fish were huge!!
On a more serious note...thanks for your input regarding the davit and
welders down our way, I've got a call into All Cape Welders and will keep
you posted. The boat is an awesome vessel, safe, fast and powerful. I put
in our mooring and pulled it out at the end of the season...150 lb.
mushroom, 15 feet 3/8 inch chain, 10 feet 1/2 inch chain and pennant, etc..
It took some doing but she freed the mess out of the mud, hardest part was
hauling by hand out of the water. We never did get the anchor into the
boat, just drove it to shore and dropped it in a foot of water while banging
a few submersed rocks. The wind was sustained 50 knots gusting to 65. Once
I figured out how to play the wind, she rode up onto the trailer nicely.
Had one bad miss, banged up a piece of the jetty but it should be okay and
submerged a nearby dinghy but righted the craft after the haul out was
complete. Beginner boating at it's best. Thank God only my closest buddies
were watching so they can bust my chops forever. All said they were not
going to help next year. Wonder why? Anyway that is the worse thing that
happenned.
We were out in calm seas, confused seas, six foot standing waves at tide
changes, max gale winds, gale winds, following seas of significant size,
head on seas of significant size, dense fog, rain, sun and more importantly
came back into port each trip. The vessel is very forgiving and at the same
time performs beyond any level I had hoped for. A friend who vacations with
his family one week each summer down here also owns a boat and skippers it
out of Niantic, Ct., 32 foot Blackfin, very experienced on the water. He
went with me or Jesse a few trips during his vacation. He couldn't get
enough of the boat very impressed with it's performance all around. This guy
hits the canyons all the time for big fish and he was just loving fishing
around the island in our boat. I think that speaks so well for the vessel,
thought you'd like to know.
One more thing...I've stored the boat at Herring Creek Marine in Edgartown,
called yesterday to arrange work on the engine. Guy says oh you got that
aluminum boat. That thing is beautiful, I hear good stuff about, what's it
called? I told him and gave him my opinion and endorsement of the boat. He
asks what they go for without the engine, I told him around 50k. Every
where I go with the boat people ask about it and I'm happy to talk with
them.
Thanks again we are all very pleased with Albert's Alloy. Talk to you soon.

P.s. Albert is Nancy's father who was a precision machinist for Norton
Company and avid fisherman, hence the name in his honor.
